Distance Education - Kannur University

Kannur University was established in 2nd March 1996 by an act 22 of 1996 of the Kerala Legislative Assembly. The main objective of the university is to offer academic programs to the students of Kerala and to carry out research works in various fields of science, humanities, management, IT and other frontier fields of higher education. The university also acts as an affiliating university.

Apart from offering various regular class room programs the university also offers various correspondence courses through its School of Distance Education. The School of Distance Education was established in 2002. In a period of about 5 years the Department has gained significant success by providing quality education to the students through distance mode.

At present the schools is offering 5 UG programs, 3 postgraduate programs, 2 professional courses, one certificate courses and a five year integrated course in Afzal-UI-Ulama. The school is also planning to expand its horizon by introducing new courses in near future.
