MS by Research

A research-oriented postgraduate programme wherein the students can pursue advanced courses related in their area of specialization in the first year and devote the second year entirely towards their research thesis. With the necessary background and a good preparation a students can directly start working on his/her research thesis in the first year and complete it in one and half year.

Post-BSc dual degree programme
(BTech CSE + MS by Research in Computational Natural Sciences)

Offered to meritorious Science graduates (Physics/Chemistry honors) with an aptitude for research this is a four year integrated course. The programme aims at imparting indepth knowledge in the field of Computer Science along with domain specialization with an opportunity for thesis work in the final year. PhD

• Regular PhD Programme :
  dissertation is the centerpiece of the PhD programme. The student's background is also decisive in the semester-wise courses and the planning of PhD programme. Depending on the background, a PhD student takes the relevant courses in the first one or two semesters, just like a student of MS by research. After the completion of the first year, the student has to clear the PhD qualifying to be enrolled in the PhD programme.
• External PhD Programmes :
  Under this programme a candidate can enroll for PhD and carry out the main part of their research from their home institute. But they are required to spend two semesters in the institute. One for the course work and the other for carrying out their research.
• Research Exchange Programme :
  Under this programme a candidate registers for PhD and spends even amount of time at the Institute and with a partner research group abroad with financial support from both the ends. He can also obtain his PhD from the partner research group abroad. Among others, the major partners are research groups at CMU, University of Pennsylvania, and University of Illinois.

Part-time Programmes

Local professional from the Hyderabad area are encouraged to enroll in the PG programmes on a part-time basis. PG Students Status Programme allows professionals to take individual courses of their choice without enrolling themselves in a degree programme.


Part-Time Master of Technology (MTech) Programme

Academic and professional record of the aspirants are the main criteria for admission to the M.Tech. programme.

Post-Graduate Student Status Programme (PGSSP)

The PGSS Programme provides an opportunity for professionals in the Hyderabad to obtain a post-graduate status, on the basis of his or her academic record and experience. Once awarded the PG status, he or she can take a maximum of two courses at the institute every semester. This provides him or her with the opportunity to acquire new knowledge in chosen areas without enrolling themselves in the formal programme.

To make it a formal degree of the institute the student should join one of the full-time or part-time programmes subsequently.
