The Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management (IIITM) was formally inaugurated by Mr. Sukhdev Singh Kang, the Governor of Kerala state on November 23, 2000. The institute has started its first batch of PGDIT programme in 2001 to which degree has awarded in 2003. The creator of Tata Consultancy Group has delivered the convocation address and awarded the diplomas to students.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was started by Mr. Kohli in 1960 when IT was very near to myth in country like India. Today TCS is computer software giant. TCS is a part of Tata Group of Companies.

Thus institute has the responsibility to binds well the basic sciences with information technology and working out newest management methodologies for the cause virtual management.
