About Acharya Nagarjuna University
Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) was established by act 43 of 1976 of A.P. Sate Legislature. At present, it is governed by act 4 of 1991 covering six Universities in the State. The university with just 10 departments initially, now has achieved tremendous progress through quantitative expansion and qualitative improvements on various academic fronts.
The University at present offers post-graduate education in 44 courses (35 on the University campus, 4 at University PG Centre at Nuzvid and 5 at University PG Centre at Ongole) besides Post-graduate courses in affiliated colleges.
ANU is located on the Chennai-Kolkata National Highway No. 5. The university has been recognized by the University Grants Commission and Association of Indian Universities (A.I.U) and the Associations of the Common Wealth University (A.C.U) and accredited by NAAC in 2003 at B++ (80 - 85 points).
The university’s Centre for Distance Education is a pioneer centres offering various courses through distance mode of education.
Centre for Distance Education
Acharya Nagarjuna University’s Centre for Distance Education (CDE) came into existence form the academic year 2003-04. The CDE is a pioneer centre of the university that offers courses starting from certificate to research level.

- Offers quality education at an affordable cost through a wide network of Study Centres.
- Pioneer in starting PG Science Courses under the distance mode.
- Pioneer in starting M.Phil and B.Tech. Courses Under the distance mode
- Pioneer in starting B.Sc. (M.P.C.), (B.Z.C.), (M.S.Cs.), (M.P.Ele.), (M.Ele.Cs.)and B.B.M. with comming core syllabus, through distance mode.
- Offers LL.M. Course (4 specializations) with 2 years duration.
- Enrolment either through the Centre for Distance Education or through the Study Centre of Student's choice.
- Admissions are made twice a year i.e., Academic Year Batch (July to June), Calender Year Batch (January to December)
- Examinations are held twice a year in May and December
- Supplementary examination and betterment facility to the CDE students.
