Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University

The U P Rajashri Tandon Open University (UPRTOU) was established on November 2, 1998 with an objective to provide quality education through distance mode to the large section of population of the state of Uttar Pradesh. The actual activity of the university started only from 27.01.1999 when the first vice chancellor joined.




The university, through eduction, research, training and extension, is playing a positive role in the development of the state. The university is now offering 8 different types of programs. These are First Degree Programmes, Post Graduate Programmes, General Diploma Programmes, Certificate Programmes, Computer Programmes, Vocational Programmes, Professional Programmes and various Awareness Programmes. As a state university, UPRTOU caters to educational and vocational demands of whole of Uttar Pradesh. (DOU 23082007)
