About NALSAR University

NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad is one of the premier institutions for legal studies in the country. It was established by an act of Andhra Pradesh State Government in 1998. The Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh is the President of the University. The University is headed by a Vice-Chancellor, advised by Executive council, General Council and Administrative Council which has members drawn from Supreme Court, State High Court judges, Law Secretary, Bar Council members of the State and the Centre and eminent Academicians. The University offers fulltime regular B.A., B.L. (Hons.) Degree programmes, M.L. Programmes and Research Programmes - M.Phil and PhD programmes.

Apart from offering regular campus programs, the university also offers various postgraduate programs through distance mode. These outreach programs are conducted through NALSAR Proximate Education Centre (NALSAR PRO). NALSAR PRO conducts various Post Graduate Diploma Programmers for Legal Fraternity and other professionals. The courses are non-residential and are similar to Correspondence Courses and Distance Education Programmers.

The regular centers are Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune where contact classes held. Based on the enrollment pattern centers of Chennai, Ahmedabad and Kolkatta can be offered. The candidates applying can choose the first and second center in the application form and will be intimated of availability of other centers. If the candidate cannot get a center of his/her choice (other than the regular center) can choose the nearest center. 

The contact classes for each course are held twice during the course period for two to three days depending on the coverage of the syllabi. The Classes are normally held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The candidates will be intimated about the classes three weeks in advance.
