Most full-time MBA programmes in the UK run for one year. You'll study the core curriculum subjects of finance, marketing, human resources, economics, accounting, management information systems, operations and quantitative methods, as well as optional subjects (electives) depending on your interests. You can choose to do a part-time programme - most of these last two or three years. Entry requirements vary from institution to institution, but you will usually need a first degree, as well as business and management experience, so MBA students tend to be at least 25 and may be in their 40s, with considerable experience of senior management. Many institutions also require students to take the GMAT.
