| Primary School Teachers
They are broadly classified into two categories - nursery or Montessori school teachers and primary school teachers.
The teachers at this level play a very important role in society, as they are largely responsible for moulding the young and impressionable minds. These teachers mainly deal with children in the age group of 3-7 years. As the child comes out of the protected environment of his home for the first time and is away from his parents, these teachers are a parent substitute. What a child learns and experiences during his early school years can shape the child's views about himself and the world around him, which would later play an important role in his success at school, work and also his personal life. Therefore the nursery school teachers are responsible for the social, emotional and intellectual growth of the children.
While the division of work varies according to the rules of the school, most nursery school teachers introduce children to alphabets, numbers, languages, poems, stories and science. They have to train the children to use their hands and co-ordinate limb movement; help the children to develop their natural talents by engaging them in singing songs, reciting poems, acting in short skits, drawing, painting, clay modeling, craft and playing games.
Most primary school teachers instruct one class of children in all the subjects, however in some schools a group of two or more teachers teach and together are responsible for a group of students.
