The University of Kashmir established the Directorate of Distance Education in the year 1976 with the view to impart education in different disciplines through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode.
It offers many academic courses/programs and undertakes a diverse range of activities. Admission to the Distance Education Programs is open to all who fulfill the prescribed qualification without any distinction of race, caste, creed, language, age, religion or sex.
The University provides all the essential facilities to its students, such as separate hostels for boys and girls, departmental libraries, well equipped central library containing leading national and international journals and magazines, and a computer lab.

Kashmir University Distance Education Admissions
The university of Kashmir accepts application from all over India and the world. Admissions are done purely on merit basis. These courses do not have a limit on age and number of students in a course because they are based on open learning module so they come with the course material which students can read and learn at their home and according to their convenience.
The admission procedure requires the candidate to fill up the application form which can be downloaded from University website or can be obtained from University office. After candidate fills out the form then it has to be submitted to the university office via post or by in person. After submission of the form, applicant’s eligibility is tested and on qualifying every criteria, he/she is awarded the admission.
