Eligibility

Admissions to M. Phil./Ph. D. programme are offered to candidates who have secured atleast 55% marks (50% for SC/ST Candidates) or its equivalent grade in their post graduation in Education, Social Sciences, Sciences, Commerce, Management, Law and allied disciplines from a recognized university. The candidates who are yet to clear their final year exams of post graduation can also apply. However, after seeking admission they have to submit pass certificate of the post graduation examination latest by 31st May of the admission year.

The admissions are also open to the NET qualified candidates (who have been awarded Junior Research Fellowships by the UGC-CSIR). The candidates interested in pursuing part-time doctoral program, however, need to have atleast 2 years of teaching or research experience in educational planning or administration. The program can be availed by Government officials too, who are engaged in the field of educational planning and administration. They should have a minimum 2 years of working experience.

Selection Process

The institute selects the candidates on the basis of a test. The test judges a candidate’s general knowledge about the educational issues, the ability of the candidate to interpret data and draw inferences, and the comprehension of research literature.
