Campus Life & Hostels at IIIT Bangalore

IIT Bangalore Hostels

The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIITB) offers residential facilities to both male and female students in separate buildings. Individual rooms are allotted for individual students.

Presently, the institute houses nearly 70 female and 200 male students. All the hostel rooms are connected with advanced network such as Wi-Fi, etc. Small numbers of suites are also available for visitors like guest speakers etc.

Mess facility is also available for students, faculty members and other staff members. A separate cafeteria is also available for snacks during working hours.

IIIT Bangalore Campus Life

 

The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIITB) offers great learning environment in terms of both academics and non academics. The campus offers a life full of happenings to its members: academicians, students and other staff members. Several events are conducted in the IIITB campus to add extra flavor to life of residents. Open House
Open House offers students to exhibit their skills in terms of creativity that they can offer to Computers and IT. The IIIT Bangalore invites people from different quarters of academia and industry to witness Open House event and judge the best performers. This event is bound to infuse creative skills in the participants.

The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIITB) has a vibrant IEEE chapter on the technical front.

Tech – Bytes
The in-house magazine of IIIT Bangalore is a platform for students discussing their curies and sharing their curiosities.

Back – Bytes
Back – Bytes, another magazine focuses on lighter side of life that residents enjoy at IIITB campus.

Spic Macay
The Spic Macay at IIIT Bangalore is committed for conducting cultural programmes and fests at the campus. Noted artists take part in this event. The event largely focuses on cultural diversity and heritage of India.

Linux Club
The meetings of Linux Club held at weekly basis. The students get a chance to express their programming and IT skills during the meetings of Linux Club.

Quiz Club
You may doubt whether learning is fun or not. The IIIT Bangalore Quiz Club is a mix of learning and a lot of fun. The members gather on Saturdays’ second half when quiz club rocks. A blood donation camp with the help of Rotary Blood Bank amd Manipal Hospital is also organized.

Spandan
This is an intra college annual fest where members of current batches and alumni interact at large.

The City

Geographically, the city is located at 920 m above sea level. The city receives good rainfall from south – west monsoon.

Bangalore is also famous for its lakes and water tanks. The largest water resources at Bangalore are; Madivala Tank, Hebbal lake, Ulsoor lake and Sankey tank.
