Established in 1984, Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM) is an institute that was born out of an idea to impart education that was rooted not just in strong theories but also real world experience. This was the first ever institute in India that was born out of a partnership with an industry giant - BHEL - and even housed within its campus. No wonder this Trichy based institute is on the list of most MBA aspirants.
True to its motto of offering students real-time industry exposure, BIM has further tied-up with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) so that students can get a deeper understanding of problems faced by the small scale industries. BIM is also trying to establish collaborations with prestigious companies like Ramco Systems, Wipro, and Sonata for providing academic trainings and summer internships for its students. It has also started Research in Contemporary Management and has set up a Centre for Contemporary Management Research (CECMAR) in November 2006.
Most of BIM's faculty has industry experience to ensure that the knowledge transferred is real and industry relevant. The institute constantly invite visiting lecturers from various fields to impart knowledge on subjects like welfare, financial modelling, quality management, strategic management, logistics and supply chain management. This university offers approximately 250 courses for almost 1.25 Lacs students who come from various backgrounds.
BIM boasts of fully-equipped modern and state-of-the-art classrooms. It provides unlimited access to internet, library, business and management related softwares to its students. It has an extensive collection of books, journals and CDs in its library.

Eligibility & Admission Procedure
- Candidates with a bachelor's degree or post graduate degree in any discipline can apply.
- The required marks is 50%.
- Final year degree students can also apply.
- Admission is through CAT 2016 scores.
About 36 companies from various industries like BFSI, Manufacturing, FMCG, Consulting, IT & ITes, Real Estate, Consumer Durables, Social Media, Infrastructure selected BIM students.
The batch of 120 students received 130 offers in total.
The maximum CTC offered was Rs. 14 lakh per annum while the average salary was Rs. 9.1 lakh.
