IIT Bombay Director - The Dip In Qualifying Cut - Marks For JEE Advance 2022 Will Not Impact Admissions.

IIT Bombay director the dip in qualifying cut off marks for JEE Advanced 2022 will not impact admissions.

Despite seeing a slight dip in cut-off marks in the JEE Advanced results this year, IIT Bombay director Professor Subhasis Chaudhuri has said that this is “statistically insignificant” and will not impact admissions.

As the organizing institute for JEE Advanced this year, IIT Bombay is responsible for managing the counseling process and allocating places to successful candidates. According to the toppers, IIT-Bombay is the most sought-after tech college, followed by IIT-Delhi and IIT-Kanpur. Interestingly, in the national ranking of higher education institutions (read: NIRF) released by the Education Ministry every year, the order is a bit different. Among the IITs, IIT-Madras is ranked the best followed by IIT-Delhi and IIT-Bombay

The data analysis shows that there has been a power shift in the last five years between IIT-Kharagpur (the oldest IIT) and IIT-Madras. Kharagpur was the fourth most preferred IIT from 2016 to 2018 but was overtaken by IIT-Madras from 2019 onwards. In 2019, 107 students among the top 1000 chose IIT-Madras while 100 opted for IIT-Kharagpur. The gap between the two widened a little more with 70 of the top 1,000 position holders taking admission in Kharagpur and 83 going to Madras.

Since 2016, IIT-Hyderabad and IIT-Indore have both been increasing their foothold among the best candidates. While IIT-Hyderabad almost doubled its share among the top 1000 students from 19 in 2016 to 34 in 2020, IIT-Indore went from admitting just three from the top 1000 rankers in 2016 to take in 14 in 2020.

IIT-Hyderabad was established in 2008 and IIT-Indore in 2009. Both of these IITs were part of the second-generation IITs set up by the UPA government in 2008.

Girl students are looking for soft jobs, so all IITs should allocate them to soft branches like electronics, computer etc. Otherwise it will be a waste of their money and time.

Then what about boys ,they also want soft jobs . Admission is on the basis of rank ,there also girls have advantage ,now don’t make it more difficult for general cat boys by discriminating in the branch also .
If one has the potential ,compete and come .

Seriously ,first go to IIT with girls supernumerary seats and then ask for IT and CS over the deserving gen cat male candidates showing that girls want soft jobs so they should be alloted CS and IT … Ridiculous.
What have the general cat male pool have done to deal with all reservation.
