Indian School of Mines (ISM) is a premier institution of international repute. The Department of Management Studies of the School launched its MBA program in 1997. The erstwhile Department of Industrial Engineering and Management (IE&M) was restructured and re-christened as Department of Management Studies. Having run the M.Tech program of IE&M for two full decades, the requisite experience as well as expertise was available with the department to run the MBA program.

Since its inception, Department of Management Studies, Indian School of Mines has been moving ahead, continuously in tandem with the growth and diversification in the business field maintaining constant interaction with various industries. To its credit, the department has successfully completed several consultancy assignments, in-house and off-campus executive development programs and specific research projects supported by AICTE, UGC, ICSSR, MHRD, CIL, World Bank etc.

The department has been constantly rated as A/A+ institute by the various rating agencies including AIMA-Business Standard, Business India, The Telegraph (Careergraph) etc. in their B-School surveys conducted from time to time. We have crossed these milestones in a period of just seven years.

Apart from the above, the Faculty and the students have won laurels for the School by their different curricular activities. ISM has launched its AICTE approved MBA program under the Department of Management Studies in 1997. Strength of ISM’s value-addition to management graduates lies in its excellent faculty as well as its institute-industry interaction and networking with leading institutes of India. The Department of Management Studies has been constantly rated as one of the leading business schools of the country by news media agencies.
