The rank of your Institute/ college:

Looking at the rankings of colleges should be the first step of your college. Don’t rely on just one website and look at several independent rankings tables. Some tables miss colleges that might be the good ones. Sort out colleges after looking to several rankings and websites. But don’t blindly follow the ranking system, It should be part of your result. It doesn’t provide every aspect of the college or the Institute. There might be some new colleges that have not had the time to rank higher yet. And it certainly does not cover technological and social exposure.

Finances:

Some colleges are meant to be affordable and some are not. Looking into finances is a crucial part of how much you can afford to spend on your education including tuition fees, travelling and other necessary expenses. Look for government scholarships or grants or are their scholarships provided by the college or institution or not, you can even apply for the student loan if it’s worth it. It is advisable to look beyond just the tuition fee and make decisions considering other fees too.

Facilities and Faculties:

It is a smart move to look for facilities and faculties available by institution or college. You can find all details on their websites and it is better to go there to take a look or talk to students already studying there, they can give a better perspective of the quality of education delivered there and if they have or not facilities you need.

Placement and Exposure:

The placement situation may vary from what colleges promise you. Go through the previous statistics and do solid research by your side. After all, you will be looking for a successful career after completing your graduation. Also, look into how much social and industrial exposure is provided by the institute as it plays a crucial role in upscaling your career and helps you to network from the start.

Focus on your goal:

The college or Institution you will choose will only guide you towards your goal. A top college or not, your work ethic and your personality matter the most. A student with a great work ethic and personality is going to stand out irrespective of your college. Getting into a top college does not guarantee your success and not getting into your desired college will not make you less successful there. YOU should carve your path from there colleges and institutions are just a guide to reach the goal.
