A first-class knowledge of human anatomy, diet, nutrition and other health and fitness related matters would always be of help in this profession. Good communication and interpersonal skills are also necessary for this profession.

    • These days all kinds of gyms, big hotels, health clubs, fitness centres, spas, tourist resorts and even cruise liners have started taking services of professional fitness trainers in a big way.
    • Once some experience is attained, one can even choose to run own fitness centre. Organizing workplace
    • wellness and fitness programmes for large companies is also fast emerging as a good choice among fitness trainers.
    • While working for health clubs, one can also specialize in weightlifting, aerobics, karate, kickboxing, spin cycling, yoga, pilates or tai chi.
    • After gaining some reputation, one also go on to conduct fitness programmes or health shows on popular TV channels too.

Today, fitness in India is a whopping Rs.2, 000 crore industry. The pay may be a little low initially but as one establishes himself in the industry and comes out with a personal style and rapport, salary-package dramatically improves. Personal trainer to the rich and famous, and those with high-end fitness centers, spas and resorts can even earn in lakhs in this profession.
