Banaras Hindu University Launches Student Well-Being Initiative

To improve the overall well-being of its students, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has launched a new initiative called the “Student Well-Being Initiative.” The initiative will provide students with support for their academic, psychological, emotional, physical, and mental well-being.

The initiative is being led by a ten-member committee chaired by Professor Satyen Saha, from the Department of Chemistry. The committee will develop strategies and implement activities to enhance the well-being of students. This includes providing counseling, workshops, and other resources to help students cope with stress, anxiety, and other challenges.

The initiative has been launched for a period of one year initially, and will be evaluated at the end of that time to determine if it should be continued.

Advisory Council Appointed

The Vice-Chancellor of BHU, Professor Sudhir Kumar Jain, has also appointed an Advisory Council to monitor and track the activities of the Student Well-Being Initiative. The Advisory Council is chaired by Professor Madoolika Agrawal, from the Department of Botany. The other members of the Advisory Council are Professor S M Singh, from the School of Biotechnology; Professor Abhay Kr Singh, from the Department of Physics; Professor Rajeev Bhatla, from the Department of Geophysics; and Professor Madhu Gwaldas Tapadia, from the Department of Zoology.
