The staff association of Ramjas College has written to the President of India, alleging that EWS reservation for teachers’ recruitment is being implemented by carving out vacancies from the general category. The University Grants Commission has not responded to queries on this matter. Principal Manoj Khanna of Ramjas College said that the university’s reservation and roster system is being followed for the recruitment, as there has been no extra sanction of posts.

Rajesh Jha, a former DU executive council member, said that the central government had said in 2019 that the posts would be sanctioned soon, but four years have passed and there has been no communication. The principal of another college said that they have provided details of the faculty and funds requirement on several occasions, but they have not heard anything yet. The principal pointed out that when the Other Backward Class reservation was implemented, both funds and faculty positions were sanctioned.
