IMD Alert New Delhi : All primary schools in Delhi will be closed on Tuesday, July 11 due to heavy rainfall and an alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) about adverse weather conditions.

The closure applies to students in Nursery to 5th grade, but students in 6th grade and above, as well as staff and teachers, are required to attend school as usual.

The decision to close the schools was made in the interest of safety, as heavy rains can cause flooding and other hazards.

The IMD has forecast moderate to heavy rains in Delhi on Tuesday, so the closure is a precautionary measure.

This is the second day in a row that schools in Delhi have been closed due to heavy rain.

On Sunday, July 9, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a holiday for all schools on July 10.

Several parts of Delhi have been receiving heavy rains since Saturday, July 8.
