Due to continuous rainfall and resultant waterlogging, schools in multiple states across India have been shut down. As heavy rains persist, the government has taken the decision to prioritize student safety by closing schools in the mentioned regions on July 12 and further.

Schools in Ghaziabad will remain closed until July 15, as per the announcement made by the District Magistrate. Furthermore, due to the Kanwar Yatra 2023, both government and private schools across Uttar Pradesh will have holidays from July 8 to July 16.

Schools in Panchkula district have been closed today due to the heavy rainfall and flooding occurring in the region. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued a red alert.

The Punjab government has taken the decision to close schools until July 13, while in Chandigarh, schools will remain closed until Thursday.

In light of the Kanwar Mela, the Haridwar district administration in Uttarakhand has ordered the closure of all schools, from classes 1-12, from July 10 to July 17. District Magistrate Dheeraj Garbyal stated, “In view of the Kanwar Mela, the district administration has decided to close all schools and Anganwadi centres from July 10 to 17.”

Delhi schools were declared closed yersterday due to heavy rains. However, there has been no update regarding school closure for today from the administration. Students are advised to contact their respective schools for the latest updates.

In Telangana, schools are expected to remain closed today. The All India Students Federation (AISF) has called for a school and college bandh, protesting against various irregularities such as high fees and lack of infrastructure in schools. Although no official notice has been accessed yet, students and parents are advised to stay in touch with their respective schools for the most recent updates.
