Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (MSU) is a State University established in 1990, by the Government of Tamil Nadu, as per the Act 31 of 1990. MSU has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council of India with five star status. M.S. University is the first in Tamil Nadu to implement it in a full-fledged manner. Every course and research program offered by the University has been carefully chosen. The University departments offer M.Phil. and Ph.D. Programs both in full time and and part time mode.

The University Act authorizes the functioning of Directorate of Distance and Continuing Education outside the university jurisdiction and the courses offered through this mode are recognized by the Distance Education Council of India. The Directorate of Distance and Continuing Education (DD & CE) was started in the University in the year 1994.

Admission to students is open throughout the year. The University Directorate of Distance & continuing Education conducts Personal Contact Classes(PCP’s) at Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, and Kanyakumari districts in Tamil Nadu.

Courses offered:

The university offers M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes in various fields including Commerce, Education, Engineering, Economics, Management studies, Psychology etc.

Admissions:

The procedure of admission is offline and the form is to be filled in English or Tamil in the handwriting of the candidate strictly. The candidate has to present relevant documents with signatures wherever needed of the gazetted officer along with two passport size photographs.

The fee must be remitted through Demand Draft / Challan SBI – Power Jyoti Scheme (DD & CE A/c. No. 32723644765 drawn in favour of “The Registrar, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli” payable at Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu.
