Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is set to open a medical college and an international campus in the near future, according to Vice-Chancellor Najma Akhtar.
Akhtar made the announcement at the university’s centenary convocation ceremony on July 21, 2023. She said that the medical college will be the first of its kind in JMI and will offer a 5-year MBBS program. The international campus will be located in the Middle East and will offer courses in a variety of fields, including medicine, engineering, and business.
Akhtar said that the new academic offerings are part of JMI’s plans to expand its global reach and become a leading university in the world. She said that the university is committed to providing quality education to students from all over the world.

The institute is hosting its Centenary Year Convocation today at Vigyan Bhawan. The ceremony will be attended by Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan. Around 12,500 students will be awarded degrees and diplomas in the ceremony.
