Solid Waste Management: Historically, all the garbage was thrown out onto the unused streets and pavements until the Greeks decided to have a channelized system for waste removal. People were responsible for cleaning out the street outside their houses and properties and that is how cleanliness was maintained in those days. However, these methods were considered crude since there was no appropriate or established system in place for disposal. This created pollution and public health related problems for everyone.
Solid waste has created huge amounts of problems for many countries that fail to dispose off their waste systematically. Death causing diseases also arose which led everybody to think of better ways to manage solid waste.
