The SSC Junior Engineers Exam 2022 (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveying and Contract) will be held on January 2022 (tentative) across India by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Posts are available with the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and Department of Posts, Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in Ministry of Defence, Military Engineering Service (MES), Central Water Commission (CWC) and Farakka Barrage.

These posts are Group B non-gazetted, non-ministerial posts and are classified under the General Central Service (Technical) with a pay band of Rs. 9,300-34,800 + grade pay of Rs. 4200.
Registration for the test has two parts, Part I Registration and Part II Registration. Online submission (http://ssconline.nic.in/) of the basic information for Part I will generate a registration number. Part II registration includes uploading a photograph, scanned signature and payment details. The fee for the test is Rs. 100. Women and Scheduled Castes/Schedule Tribes (SC/ST) category candidates are not required to pay the fee. You may pay the fee online through State Bank of India (SBI) net banking or in person with cash through an SBI bank challan. Payment through debit or credit card is not available.
Do not submit a printout of your application to the commission. The application should be submitted only to the appropriate regional or sub-regional office of the commission. This particular office is determined by which centre you select. Find out which address applies to your application. The registration number and fee payment details should be retained
Nationality: Candidates must be one of the following: a citizen of India, a subject of Bhutan, a subject of Nepal, a Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before 1 January 1962 to settle permanently in India, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar) or Vietnam to settle permanently in India. A certificate of eligibility will be needed for persons who are not citizens of India. This Government of India issued certificate is necessary for an offer of appointment.
Education: Candidates should generally have at least a degree or diploma in either electrical, civil or mechanical engineering from a government recognized institution. Certain posts require only a diploma, while others require a diploma and prefer work experience in the relevant field.
Age:
For Junior Engineer (Civil and Electrical) in CPWD and Department of Posts, candidates must be between 18 and 27 years of age.
Junior Engineers (Civil and Mechanical) in CWC and Farakka Barrage may be up to 32 years old.
Junior Engineer (Civil) and Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) candidates for MES must not be over 30.
Junior Engineers (Quantity Surveying and Contract) in MES should be between 18 and 27 years of age.
Junior Engineers (Civil) & Junior Engineers (Electrical & Mechanical) applying for BRO should not be older than 30.
Age relaxation is permissible for some candidates. For SC/ST category candidates, age relaxation beyond the upper limit is five years. For Other Backward Classes (OBC) category candidates, age relaxation is three years. Sons, daughters and dependents of ex-servicemen are not eligible for age concession. You may check with SSC for further details on relaxation for other categories.
There are two stages to successfully gaining a post:
Written Test
Each paper is two hours in length. Questions are set in the International System of Units (SI units). In Paper I and II, only attempt the appropriate third section according to the post to which you are applying. For example, Junior Engineer (Civil) candidates should only fill out Part A (Civil & Structural) in Paper I and II. Paper II answer sheets will only be graded if the candidate has qualified through Paper I. The standard for qualification is decided by the commission. For Paper I, 1/4 of a mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
Within approximately seven days of the exam, the answer key to the first paper will be available online.

Personality Test (Interview)
The Personality Test has a maximum of 100 marks. You must earn minimum qualifying marks in order to appear for the interview. The commission will determine the interview location.
