The minimum hourly wage rate is set at €9.61 per hour (before taxes). After reducing the same, the student makes somewhere around €7.67 per hour.Here a few types of part-time work that you can consider while you are enrolled as a student in any of the universities or institutes in France:
You can get a job at the restaurants to work as an apprentice under the head chef if you like cooking or sit at the cash counter and take care of the cash transactions.
Most universities would have part-time jobs available for international students in the following areas: work for university’s marketing team, help out with new batch of students, assisting physically disables students, work with the university social/ cultural team for main events etc. University job contracts usually don’t extend beyond 1 year and allow 670 working hours between 1 Sep & 30 June and 300 hours between 1 Jul & 31 Aug.
Looking after young children after their school hours for a couple of hours is a good job option especially if you’re looking to brush up your French speaking skills. A lot of families in France are now eager to hire English-speaking nannies/ babysitters so that their kids can also pick up good English. You can look for such jobs through agencies like Repertoire de Gaspard or websites like www.newaupair.com or www.greataupair.com through which you can earn anywhere between 10-20 Euros per hour
You can easily get a tutor job teaching English in France especially if you possess a good and valid TOEFL score. You can sign up with an English teaching academy & offer your services. Some universities in France also have English tutor requirements. You ca also try to offer private teaching classes. Average income can vary between 900 – 1300 Euros per month.
