Admission guidelines for undergraduate and postgraduate courses is described below:
UndergraduateELIGIBILITY1.Â
AcademicsCandidates should have cleared 10+2 or any other course recognized by CBSE as equivalent, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects and should have qualified All India Engineering Entrance Examination (For details refer toÂ
AIEEE). Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes are required to secure the minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination.

Change of Branch is offered strictly on AIEEE rank subject to eligibility and availability.
2.Â
Physical FitnessThe aspiring students should also fulfill certain minimum conditions of physical fitness as prescribed by the Government of India. It is desirable to have the following medical standards for admission to all the NITs.
Height: Not less than 150 cm for male and not less than 140 cm for female candidates.
Weight: Not less than 41 kg for male and not less than 37 kg for female candidates.
Chest: Not less than 69 cm with satisfactory limits of expansion & contraction.
Heart & Lungs: No abnormality.
Hernia, Hydrocele, Piles etc.: To be rectified before joining, if these are present.
Vision: Normal. In case of defective vision, it must be corrected to 6/9 in both the eyes or 6/6 in the better eye. Candidates seeking admission to Mining Engineering must be free from color blindness.
Hearing: Normal, where defective it must be corrected.
Physique: Good.
Note: Candidates are required to produce Physical Fitness Certificate at the time of counseling.
