The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is a national organization for computer, IT, electronics and telecommunication professionals. IETE conducts the graduateship examination Associate Member of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (AMIETE), and Diploma Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (DIPIETE). AMIETE is offered in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ET), Computer Science and Engineering (CS) and Information Technology (IT) disciplines. DIPIETE is offered in two streams: Electronics and Telecommunication and Computer Science and Engineering.

The membership examinations of IETE (DIPIETE, AMIETE) are recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India and Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for employment to various posts. After passing DIPIETE or AMIETE, candidates may seek work with government or private agencies or choose higher studies.

IETE also conducts an Advanced Level Course in Computer Science (ALCCS), equivalent to a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Computer Science. After passing the ALCCS program, candidates may choose to do research or work in superior posts and services under government and private agencies.

AMIETE examinations are conducted twice a year, in June and December respectively, at different centers throughout India and in few locations abroad.
