The accused threatened the minor girl and warned her of dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to others.
Two teachers at a school in Silvassa, including the vice-principal, were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly raping a 14-year-old student. The accused also threatened the minor girl and warned her of dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to others, the police said.
A case was registered at the Silvassa police station against two people under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, and the Information Technology Act. The superintendent of police said in a statement that the accused are facing charges of rape of a minor, gang rape, unnatural intercourse, criminal intimidation, and aggravated sexual assault.
A local law enforcement official said that an FIR was filed on August 29th and that the victim’s statement was recorded along with a medical examination being conducted. On the same day, both of the accused were arrested and brought in front of a local court where they were remanded in police custody until September 3rd.
“The mobile phones of the two accused persons have been seized and they will be sent for forensic examination. Efforts were being made to find out if any other teachers had a role in the incident. Further investigation was underway,” said the superintendent of police.
