Associate Member of Institutions Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (AMIETE) is a graduate-level examination equivalent to a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) programme. The programme is recognized by the Government of India, Union Public Service Service Commission, the Ministry of Railways, the Association of Indian University (AIU) and other state governments and organizations.
The examination is conducted twice a year in June and December at various centers across India and a few places abroad.

Student membership: To become an active student member, a candidate must enroll in the institution. Enrollment is necessary for appearing in the AMIETE examination. The enrollment fee and other conditions are listed on the IETE website.
Membership period: A student member needs to enroll with the IETE membership program at least four months in advance of the examination. This means if you want to appear for the June examination, you must enroll before 28/29 February of the examination year. Similarly, if you want to appear in December examination, then you must enroll before 31 August of the year of examination.
Validity period: Students must complete the AMIETE exam within two enrollment periods. Only one membership renewal is allowed.
The last date to submit for the June exam is 25 April, and 25 October for the December exam. Applications are consider up to 5 May and 5 November with a Rs. 300 late fee. Admit Cards will be sent to all the candidates by about 30th of May/November
The exam is conducted from 15 June to 22 June and 15 December to 22 December.

Student members who complete Section A and B subjects, as well as project work of the exam, are awarded a certificate. Pass marks for the exam are 40 percent in individual subjects, except for lab and project practice (50 percent required). An aggregate of 50 percent marks is required, in addition to other conditions the institution requires.
