Punjab Education Minister renames 12 government schools after famous people.

The AAP government in Punjab has renamed 12 government schools after famous personalities in order to honour freedom fighters, martyred soldiers, and eminent writers and to educate future generations about these individuals.

School education minister Harjot Singh Bains stated that the department has decided to rename government schools after famous people in order to keep them as a source of inspiration for future generations.

He informed that the name of the Government Primary Smart School Dhaula in Barnala district has been changed to Ram Saroop Ankhi Government Primary Smart School Dhaula.

Similarly, the Government Primary Harijan Basti Kot Fatta in Bathinda district has been renamed Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Government Primary School. Shaheed Udham Singh Government Primary School was established in Udham Singh Nagar Bathinda, and Shaheed Malkeet Singh Government Middle School was established in Pohlomajra, Fatehgarh Sahib.

Government High School Pabarali Kalan in the district of Gurdaspur has been renamed Shaheed Lance Naik Rajinder Singh Government High School, Government Senior Secondary Smart School Hajipur in the district of Hoshiarpur has been renamed Shaheed Bakhtabar Singh Government Girls Senior Secondary Smart School, and Government Elementary School Kalichpur Kalotan in the district of Hoshiarpur has been renamed Shaheed Subedar Rajesh Kumar Government Elementary School.
