JEE MAINS 2023

JEE Main 2023: The Ministry of Education (MoE) decided on Tuesday that students from the top 20 percentile of all boards will be eligible to seek admission based on their JEE Main score, In addition to the eligibility criteria of scoring 75% and above in the class 12 exam.

In addition to the candidate’s All India Rank (AIR) in the national entrance exam for engineering admissions, the JEE Main information brochure published by the National Testing Agency (NTA) states that in order to be admitted, aspirants must also receive a class 12 grade point average of at least 75 percent. The qualifying aggregate score was set at 65% or higher for candidates who are from the SC or ST.

The Covid pandemic caused the same criterion to be suspended for the past three years, even though it was previously being used. This was brought on by the lack of consistency in evaluation procedures used by various state and federal boards as a result of the pandemic conditions. The original eligibility requirements and the return to normalcy in board exam evaluation were reinstated.

According to the revised eligibility criteria, apart from their AIR in JEE Main, a student should either have scored 75 per cent and above in class 12 board exam, or appear in top 20-percentile candidates of the respective board exam result.

The registration process for JEE Main ends on January 12. The first session of the national level entrance test is scheduled between January 24-31.
