The Teach for India program is a comprehensive, two-year fellowship that seeks to tackle educational disparities by deploying fellows to schools located in underprivileged areas. The program is committed to its mission of providing access to education for all.
On Tuesday, Teach for India declared that March 19 is the final deadline for their two-year full-time fellowship programme, which aims to eradicate educational inequality by assigning fellows to schools in underprivileged communities. To qualify for the fellowship, candidates must be a citizen of India or an OCI and have a bachelor’s degree by June or July 2023. They must also possess fluency in English, although previous teaching experience is not required, as the organization will provide comprehensive training. Teach for India fellows serve as full-time teachers, and their activities take place in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Kolkata. The fellows receive a salary of Rs 23,043 per month and a housing allowance if they relocate from their home city for the fellowship.
The application process involves three stages: filling out an application form and taking an online test, a phone interview, and an assessment center. During the first stage, candidates must demonstrate their past experiences and desire to join the fellowship. In the second stage, candidates will participate in a 30-minute phone interview, where they will be asked questions based on their application form. Finally, in the last stage, candidates will gain more information about the program and fellowship while showcasing their skills. Sample teaching and group activities will be included in this phase.
