Pondicherry University was established in October 1985 by the Government of India through an Act of Parliament. Pondicherry University, being a Central University it is fully supported by the University Grants Commission. Pondicherry University is a Central University, completely funded by the Govt. of India. The Programs offered by Pondicherry University are approved by the Joint Committee of DEC, AICTE and UGC.

 

The degrees are eligible for jobs in the private as well as public sectors. Admissions are conducted through Multiple modes of admission, such as Spot admission and on-line admission. Study material for all the subjects along with standard text books of Premier Publishers for select subjects are provided to all students. Personal Contact Programs (PCPs) are conducted for the benefit of the students.
