CSIR with its 38 laboratories across the country is actively involved in path breaking research with the assistance and collaboration from institutes, industries and several government organizations. Besides this CSIR is also involved with both private and public institutes and organization, abroad in the field of research and development.

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) supports and promotes the potential candidates and scholars for conducting research and developing new technologies. The institute offers financial and infrastructural support to the eligible to pursue his/her desired and viable project under the mandate of CSIR guidelines.Candidates above 15 years less than 65 years of age willing to pursue scientific projects can join the CSIR. The Human Resource Development Group (HRDG), a division of CSIR realises this objective through various grants, fellowship schemes etc.
