Candidates to the various post-graduate programmes of XLRI are short listed on the basis of an all India Test conducted by the institute every year – Xavier Admissions Test (XAT). The test is being conducted by the institute for more than 50 years. For appearing in XAT a student need to be a graduate (10+2+3) from a recognized university.
The XAT scores are used not only by XLRI but also by various reputed B-schools of the country for the admissions in their institutes. The test comprises of 3 sections.
- First section is Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability questions.
- Second section consists of Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and Data Interpretation questions and
- Third section contains General Awareness Questions.
- For each section, a candidate is given 40 minutes.
