Environmental Engineering is an emerging branch of engineering that applies the principles of science and engineering to improve the environmental factors like air, water, and/or land resources from the harmful effects of pollution and to provide healthy resources for one and all.
The major areas in Environmental Engineering include air pollution control, industrial hygiene, radiation protection, hazardous waste management, toxic materials control, along with water supply, waste water management, storm water management, solid waste disposal, public health, and land management. Apart from these major areas in Environmental Engineering, there are a few sub-sections to these too.
10+2 Science with Physics, Chemistry and Maths is mandatory for admission into B.E. or B.Tech program of Environmental Engineering.
Entrance Exams are conducted for admission into these programs.
Postgraduate studies and PhD can also be taken up after completion of graduation and post graduation respectively.
