Amit Jain is Indian entrepreneur who is famous for being CEO and Co-founder of CarDehko Group, a online portal that facilitates the purchase and sale of used and new cars.Â
Amit recently made headlines when he replaced Ashneer Grover as the Judge in the reality Tv show, Shark Tank India Season 2.Â

Amit Jain was born and bought up in a Hindu family. His mother, Nilma Jain is a Housewife, and his father, Lt. Mr. Prshant Jain, was an Ex- RBI officer and gemstones businessman.
Amit Jian got his business mindset from his father, who ran a successful business gemstones and was an astrologer also. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2006 due to cancer.

Education
Amit Jain did his early education from Saint Xavier’s School, Jaipur. After completing his schooling, Amit cleared the entrance exam for IIT and got admission into IIT Delhi in 1999.
Early Career
After graduating, Amit Jain was hired by Tata Consultancy Services as a software engineer. After completing one year with Tata, Jain switched jobs, hoping for more opportunities. He was offered the position of Senior Associate, Delivery Manager, and Product Manager at Trilogy, a software-based company located in Austin, Texas.
In 2006, Amit had to come back to his hometown due to the unfortunate demise of his father. Amit converted his garage into a makeshift office and founded GirnarSoft, an IT outsourcing company, in his hometown of Jaipur. The company was profitable in its early years, employing a team of 20 people, as stated by Startup Talky.
Amit Jain’s CarDekho Success Story
The idea to start CarDekho came to the Jain brothers when they attended an Auto-Expo in Delhi. They realized that to make their mark in the market, they would have to think outside the box and decided to launch CarDekho for all car enthusiasts. The brothers started the business from their garage at home, and soon a team of 20 employees was working with them.
After their first year in business proved to be profitable, the brothers eventually lost around 1 crore in stocks and were left with no money. This loss was a big lesson for them and helped them come back with a stronger aim: to invest the company’s money more carefully.Â
Although they were still haunted by the tension of clearing all their debts and paying their employees, their fighting spirit helped the company gain a huge amount of profits. The turning point came when they took CarDekho as an official flagship project.
Amit Jain’s Net Worth
Amit Jain’s approximate net worth is estimated at Rs. 2990 Crores, which is equal to US $365 Million. His company, CarDheko’s valuation is of over US $1.2 Billion. Amit is going to be the most richest shark on the reality show Shark Tank India, leaving behind Aman Gupta with net worth of Rs. 1000 crores.
Most of Amit Jain’s earnings come from his company Cardehko. Amit Jain has also disclosed in corporate shareholdings filed in September 2022 that he currently holds stocks in 14 companies, valued at over Rs 58 Crores.
