Patna University Directorate of Distance Education (PUDDE), used to be known as the Institute of correspondence Course, Patna University. It  was established in the year 1974. The University is recognized by the Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi.

 

The University DEC offers courses such as B.A., B.Com, B.C.A.; M.A. in History, Sociology; PG Diploma in Financial Management,  Marketing Management, and Operations Management; PGDJ, and B.LIB & IS. Teachers-students contact classes are organized for all courses. These classes are held at Patna only and the students are informed about the program of these classes by post or through advertisement in the newspaper.

 

Some of the facilities provided by the University are Departmental/Seminar libraries, a Central Library, Seminars and workshops, separate residential accommodation for boys and girls and extra-curricular activities.
