JEE Advanced 2023 Cut-off increases number of qualified candidates also increases

In the JEE Advanced 2023 examination, there are 43,773 candidates who have qualified. Among them, 7,509 are girls, which demonstrates a notable rise compared to the number of girls in 2022 (6,516) and 2021 (6,452).

JEE Advanced Cut Off 2023

The results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2023 were announced on Sunday, and the qualifying cut-offs increased across categories this year. The IIT Hyderabad zone had the highest number of qualifying candidates, both overall and among the top 500.

A total of 43,773 out of 1,80,372 candidates cleared the entrance test for admission to undergraduate programmes in 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) this year. This is a pass percentage of 24.26%, which is lower than the pass percentage of 26.17% in 2022.

The qualifying cut-off for the common rank list (CRL) was 23.89%, which is a significant jump from last year’s CRL cut-off of 15.28%. This increase in the cut-off is due to a number of factors, including the following:

  • There were more questions without penalty in this year’s exam, which resulted in less percentage of negative marking.
  • The number of candidates registering for JEE Advanced has seen a significant increase this year.
  • The number of candidates qualifying for the JEE-Advanced has to be double the number of seats available for admissions.

The IIT Hyderabad zone had the highest number of qualifying candidates, with 10,432 candidates clearing the exam. This zone also had the highest number of candidates in the top 500, with 174 candidates.

The IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay zones followed closely behind the IIT Hyderabad zone in terms of the number of qualifying candidates.

Of the 43,773 candidates who qualified, 7,509 are female, compared to 6,516 in 2022 and 6,452 in 2021. The qualifying candidates this year also include 13 foreign nationals and 155 Overseas Citizens of India.

The results of JEE Advanced 2023 are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students who took the exam. The high cut-offs show that the competition for seats in IITs is fierce, but the results also show that there are many talented students in India who are capable of excelling in engineering.

The result was declared by IIT Guwahati.
