NEET UG 2023 Exam: Tamil Nadu Shines Bright with Unmatched Number of Top 50 Rankers

Renowned for its firm resistance against the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), Tamil Nadu has achieved remarkable milestones this year. Not only has the state produced the highest-scoring candidate in the country, but it has also secured the third-highest number of candidates in the top 50 ranks. It is noteworthy that merely five years ago, Tamil Nadu had no representation in the prestigious top 50 rankers’ list.

NEET UG 2023 Results

Tamil Nadu, which has been opposed to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), has achieved its highest-ever tally in the top 50 positions of the exam. The state has six candidates in the top 10 ranks, including the country topper. This is a stark contrast from five years ago when the state had no representation in the top 50.

The increase in the number of Tamil Nadu students excelling in NEET is in line with the recent trend of more students from the state figuring in the top 95 percentile of candidates qualifying. The total number of students who scored in the 95th percentile and above in Tamil Nadu has doubled from 2,307 students in 2021 to 4,600 students in 2022.

This is despite the fact that the cut-off marks for all categories have increased this year.

The cut-off for unreserved category students has increased from 715-117 last year to 720-137.

Similarly, the cut-off for Sc, ST and OBC medical aspirants has also witnessed an increase from 116-93 to 136-107 this year.

The performance of Tamil Nadu students in NEET is a remarkable achievement, given the state’s opposition to the exam. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students, their teachers and parents.
