The Civil Services preliminary exam result for UPSC CSE 2023 has been announced today. Candidates can access the results on the official website, upsc.gov.in. The preliminary exam took place on May 28. The commission has recommended a total of 14,624 candidates for further stages. These candidates will now proceed to appear for the mains examination, scheduled to be held from September 15. In addition to the Civil Services exam, the results for the India Forest Services exam have also been declared.

It is important to note that the candidature of these candidates is provisional. As per the examination rules, all recommended candidates must reapply through Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2023. The dates and instructions regarding the filling and submission of the DAF-I will be announced in due course.

Eligible candidates are allowed a maximum of six attempts for the CSE, except for SC and ST category candidates who have unlimited attempts. OBC candidates can make up to nine attempts, and PwBD candidates from the general and EWS categories are also permitted nine attempts.
