Battlefield, the case study competition of Techkriti’10 has been launched and is geared up for another year of cut-throat competition. The event has previously witnessed entries from the top Business colleges from India and abroad. This year three new and challenging cases are being provided by Harvard Business Review. The cases deal with the problems faced by top management, which are extremely pertinent in the current business environment .The challenges vary from devising new strategies to win a client’s approval by proving your company’s worth to pondering on the merits of privatizing in the wake of challenges like decreased public appeal and the expectations of the market. Would you give a second chance to a new firm where your earlier investment has gone waste, if the firm needs your finance for a new idea? All these problems require participants to come up with decisions –some conventional, some controversial but they bring out the decision-maker in you. Battlefield, the case study competition of Techkriti’10, IIT Kanpur has been launched. The competition has historically attracted entries from the top business and engineering colleges of India. With the purpose of challenging the manager in you, three cases fromHarvard Business Review are being featured this time around. The cases are extremely relevant in the current business environment and deal with the variety of problems and challenges by the modern manager.
The event looks for creativity, structure and a bit of intuition which separates you from the flock. Along with that, the essential requirements for a manager namely your competence, knowledge, focus and commitment would add to your strengths. But there are no prerequisites for competing in Battlefield.
Battlefield is being held under Megabucks, the business section of Techkriti’10. Conceptualized by the Pioneer Batch of IIT Kanpur in the year 2000, Megabucks is the ideal platform to nurture and inspire business leaders of tomorrow. The previous edition of Battlefield saw cases and judges coming from top-notch firms like Xerox, Technopak, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Avaya Labs making Battlefield one of the largest case study competitions in the country. The previous year witnessed competition from colleges including the IIMs and the IITs. This year, we are really excited to present cases from the Harvard Business Review. This competition provides an ideal opportunity for the managerial leaders of tomorrow to showcase their problem solving skills in complex situations and prove their mettle.
