The admission process to various programs in IIITM-K is given in this section.
Admission to Master of Science in Information Technology in IIITM-K
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates having B.Tech. in any discipline or Masters’ Degree in Computer Application (MCA).
Those with a valid GATE / CAT score will get exemption from the Entrance Test; however, they will have to complete all other requirements for securing admission.
Reservation
- 50% seats are reserved for Kerala state candidates.
- The IIITM Kerala adopts the pattern of communal reservation policy as followed in other similar professional courses in the state of Kerala.

Admission to Masters Program in Informatics in IIITM-K
Eligibility
First class M.Sc. in Natural/ Physical Sciences with CGPA 6.5 or above in 10 points scale.
Selection Criteria
Admissions are based on Admission Test / interview. The candidates who have qualified the national Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR etc are exempted from the written test. The All India Admission test will be conducted at New Delhi, Kolkatta, Chennai, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kannur.
Admission to MSc. in Geoinformatics in IIITM-K
Eligibility
Bachelor’s Degree in any Science Discipline with a minimum score of 60 percentage marks or CGPA of above 6.5 in 10 points, in the qualifying examination.
Option: Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering\Technology branch with a minimum score of 60 percentage marks or CGPA of above 6.5 in 10 points, in the qualifying examination.
Selection Criteria
Students shall be selected through an entrance examination conducted by Institute under the supervision of CUSAT for both Basic Sciences and general aptitude. Reservation of seats for SC/ST, OBC. is applicable as per government rules. The final selection of the candidates is done through an interview from the short listed candidates of written test. The total intake of the student is 40.
Admission to Diploma Program in e-Governence in IIITM-K
Eligibility
Entry-level requirement for the programme is a Bachelors degree in any discipline with working knowledge of computer systems. Diploma / Certification in computer application will be an added advantage. Preference will be given to B.Tech / MBA / MCA degree holders.
Selection Process
Eligible candidates from open category are selected through competitive entrance examination followed by interview.
Government Departments and Sponsored Candidates are first short listed based on their profiles and final selection is made through interview.
