RGIIM is likely to commence its first academic session from June 2008 in the temporary accommodation of Mayurbhanj Complex in Nongthymmai, which previously housed North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU). The building has been renovated by the state government for the purpose. The Government of Meghalaya has provided land of about 120 acres, free of cost for permanent campus of RGIIM at Shillong.Â
Class rooms are fully equipped with modern facilities to help participants in their learning process. State-of-the-art facilities include interactive board (can be connected to the server directly), amenities for presentation, video-conferencing, wireless microphone system and other equipments.Â
The Institute has undertaken a process of developing a modern Learning Resource Centre with interdisciplinary focus on books, periodicals, national and international journals, working papers and dissertations. It would also cater to a number of online databases.
Since the programs are residential awaiting dormitory facilities are compulsory for all students. Dormitories with both single and double occupancy rooms are available separately for boys and girls within the campus.
The Institute provides medical aid to all resident students. An on-duty doctor is available in the dispensary of the campus. Among other facilities, The State Bank of India ATM already benefits the campus activities.
