Introduction
The Faculty of Law, Delhi University was established in 1924. Initially, Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) Degree course was treated as part-time course and the teaching was conducted in the morning. The evening classes along with morning classes for LL.B. started in the year 1942. The teaching for one year Master of of Laws (LL.M.) Degree started in the year 1944. LL.M. was made a whole-time two year course in the year 1947.
Course and Eligibility
Program:Â LL.B. and LLM
Eligibility: The Faculty of Law, Delhi University (DU) offers a three-year LL.B. course and a two-year LL.M. course. Students applying for admission should have graduated with at least 50% marks. The course begins in August and admission procedures begin in July. Notification for admission is expected by the end of April. Admissions are based on entrance tests.
Number of Seats in LL.B: 200
15 % of the seats are reserved for SC candidates and 7.5% for ST candidates. 5% seats are reserved for children/widows/wives of the officers and men of the armed forces including para-military personnel killed/disabled in action or those who died/were disabled in action or those who died/were disabled on duty. 3% sets are reserved for physically handicapped candidates.
