Forest Research Institute in Dehradun conducts various programs in environment and forest management. The courses are conducted through conventional lectures, projects and interactions.

Msc. Environment Management

This is a two year course which equips students with the skills to understand and utilize practical aspects of economics and ecology and various aspects of environmental management.

Post Graduate Diploma in Natural Resource Management

This is a one year course which lays stress on sustainable utilization of renewable natural resources both of plant & animal origin. The course includes aspects of natural resource utilization and conservation.

The other Post Graduate programs include MSc in Forestry, MSc in Wood Science & Technology and Post-Graduate Diploma in Management of Non Wood Forest Product.

FRI Dehradun 2012 Eligibility Criteria

• For MSc Environment Management : Three years Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry or Agriculture or BE/BTech in Environment Science.

• For PG Diploma in Natural Resource Management : M. Sc in any discipline.

• For all the above mentioned programs candidates must have50% or above marks in the qualifying exam for the general category and 45% marks for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes.
