IRMA 2022

Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) is an autonomous institution with the mandate of contributing to the professional management of rural organizations. It was founded in 1979 at the initiative of the National Dairy Development Board, the support of Government of India ,Government of Gujarat and Swiss Development Co-operation.Ever since inception IRMA has been working closely with Co-operatives, NGOs, Governments, and National and International agencies.

IRMA’s mission is to promote professional management of democratic and sustainable institutions for eco-friendly and equitable socio-economic development of Rural people. IRMA offers a variety of courses in Rural Management which includes a two-year Post-Graduate Program in Rural Management and a Fellow Program in Rural Management which is a doctoral program aimed at promoting scholarship and knowledge in the field of Rural Management.

From 2014-2015 onward, the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) has been using the Common Admission Test (CAT ) scores for admissions to its popular two-year post graduate programme in rural management.

This change in IRMA’s admission process is due to the directive from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), asking affiliated institutes to choose only from one of the five entrance tests for admissions – CAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA and GMAT.

(News update: IRMA to use CAT 2013 Scores for Admission to Rural Management Courses)

However since CAT does not have a section that can test the candidates’ interest in rural management and social issues, IRMA will also be conducting its own test to assess candidates qualifying through CAT.
