Delhi & TN CMs to launch TN Model Schools

Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin had requested Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to attend the inauguration of model schools. Accepting the request, Arvind Kejriwal would be traveling to Tamil Nadu on September 5 to inaugurate the model schools.

TN and Delhi CM Model Schools

Tamil Nadu Government is all set to introduce three major education related projects. 

  1. Puthumai Penn Thittam – A monthly scholarship of Rs.1000 for female students as higher education aid.
  2. Schools of Excellence – 26 State of the Art Schools of Excellence similar to the ones setup by Delhi Government.
  3. Model Schools – 15 schools that are being upscaled to offer professional courses in the state.

Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin had earlier visited Delhi in April and had taken a tour of Delhi Government’s schools and the famous Moholla Clinics. He was impressed by them and expressed his wish to develop schools in Tamil Nadu on similar lines. He also invited Arvind Kejriwal to attend the inauguration of these projects. Arvind Kejriwal accepted the invitation and said that it would be an honor for him.

The model schools have been built with an intention that the students here would be able to pursue professional courses in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Medicine) in institutes of eminence.

125 Crore budget for model Schools

The model school initiative is being upscaled to 15 more locations from the present ten with a budget of approximately 125 crores.Further more 26 schools from key cities in the state have been selected to transform to Schools of Excellence. These schools will have well equipped classrooms according to their needs.
