The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) today virtually launched its new Master of Arts in Sustainability Science programme. The programme will be offered in an online mode with multiple entries and exit options, giving students the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of sustainable development and the principles of sustainability science. The virtual launching ceremony was held on November 24 at 2 pm.
The new online MA programme’s objective is to deepen the knowledge and understanding of sustainable development and the principles of sustainability science for learners. The programme is flexible in order to allow learners to study around their current commitments
Nageswar Rao, IGNOU Vice-Chancellor said “Online programmes strengthen IGNOU’s learners-centric approach- admission at home, counselling at home, and examination centres nearer to the student’s home.”
The only eligibility requirement to enroll in this program is graduation from any accredited college or university. Recently, the university had launched a new Masters program in Arabic. This new program was created by the School of Foreign Languages and will be taught in both Arabic and English. The duration of this ODL (open distance learning) program is two years.
