Karnataka schools and college institutions are witnessing a complete shutdown due to an indefinite strike of employees demanding implementation of the 7th Pay Commission report.
Employees of the Karnataka government will be on strike starting today. Due to the strike, all government operations would be suspended throughout the state. Schools and institutions in Karnataka are reportedly still shuttered because teachers and other staff members are on strike. Government workers are starting a state-wide strike in protest of the failure of the 7th Pay Commission report.
According to local media sources, there will be no classes today in schools or universities. The strike will also have an impact on numerous other government services including KSRTC, BBMP, and BDA offices, among others
But still, there is no official statement is given by the government on the closing of educational institutions .but as teachers are on strike students are recommended to confirm it with their school institution.In a message sent to Karnataka’s government workers on Tuesday, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai stated that the administration was prepared to request and execute the interim report of the 7th Pay Commission. The execution of the 7th Pay Commission report, the implementation of at least 40% of fitment facilities, and a return to the Old Pension Plan are all demands that the employees have maintained.
